But this morning I found out some keys just don't work the option key on the left side of the keyboard doesn't work, the caps lock, the fn, delete and the arrow keys. but actually that sounds like an terrible idea so you didn't hear it from me. Hi, guys my macbook air late 2011 has been working fine for most of time. That may be useful if you just get a brick and leave it on your keyboard overnight. but it seems like it was something about having a bunch of keys depressed at the same time for a long time that messed things up, and then un-messed them up. The problem was fixed for me when I left my laptop open again and my cat slept on it again. I found that I could use those keys if I hit the key right next to them right before, so I could type "we" really quickly and then erase the "w" to get an e, but that was really awful! Might work for you though.

That made using the computer very difficult. It started for me when my cat slept on my keyboard and left those keys either dead or spitting out weird characters like §ˆ¶ˍ©ƒ-. Many sources claim that pressing Control + F1 will solve the problem, however, after doing some investigation, we discovered that this is not the case.

I backed up all my data and did what had to be done. He says that the diagonal pattern of the keys that don't work are the tell tale sign. I have connect the Apple bluotooth keyboard and managed to work like that for some time, but at a certain point the situation became unbearable - I decided to format and reisntal the whole OS.
